It took me a year, but now I have a complete Dreamworks physical media collection. It's sad that you can't get all their Netflix shows on DVD & Blu-Ray but I have most of the older TV shows that were released on DVD, because they don't release complete series sets some of them are really hard to find or order for a good price without paying insane shipping. I wrote in April 2019, which was my last blog post that I wanted to collect every Dreamwork Movie, and now I've done it.

Project: Collect Every Dreamworks Animation DVD
I'm going to try and buy every Dreamworks DVD before 2019 starts. I all ready have a few including Penguins of Madagascar, How to Train Your Dragon, Rise of the Guardians and more. When I started collecting Dreamworks movies before I wanted them all I would get just the Blu Ray, but I'm not counting the Blu Rays as apart of the collection because you can play DVD on more devices including portable DVD players and the laptop. Once I own them all I will do a complete Dreamworks Animation DVD collection video on my Thomas DVD Guy YouTube channel.

How to Properly Download YouTube Video's in 2018 using 4K Video Downloader
Sometimes YouTubers delete there livestreams or videos from there YouTube channel that you wanted to watch latter and that's annoying, so this post will show you how to save them in the original 1080pHD or 2160p4K video file.
The first thing you want to do is download the 4K Video Downloader program using the link here:
https://www.4kdownload.com/products/product-videodownloader?r=free_license
Then once the program is open you copy past the url of the YouTube video you want to download and click the past link button in the program, then select if you want the MP4 or MKV video file. If you want the original 1080p or 4K file select the MKV version. Sometimes the original video is the MP4 file, but for some reason it changes from video to video basted on the frame rate used.
There are premium features to the service as well like channel subscriptions. You can subscribe to a YouTube channel in the program and set the program to automatically download video's as there uploaded in there original quality. (Keep in mind download 4K video uses a lot of bandwidth)
You can also turn on a feature called "Smart Mode" so you can save default settings and always have the video download in the same format. For example you can select that you want the original video file downloaded in MP4 or MKV, but like I said you can only download the original 4K video in MKV.
If you want subtitles for the video if they are there then you can go to the Preferences tab and select
"Embed subtitles in video if possible" box.
The only thing this program won't do is save the video thumnail of the video as the picture you see on the video after you download it, that would be a nice feature.

Back to Thomas DVD Guy | Restarting the blog in 2018
The original title of this blog was Thomas DVD Guy and I've been posting episode reviews and Thomas & Friends news on it for a few years, but I've since stopped.
I decided to change both my YouTube channel name and this blog from the new "raretwrhunter" name back to Thomas DVD Guy because it's easier to remember and makes more sense.
The YouTube channel "raretwrhunter" is now named "Thomas Toy Land" and will be for Thomas toy reviews and short stories. For Thomas DVD Guy I've started a new channel and it will have media collection update's, media collection's, DVD intros and kid's book reading.
Every time I upload a video on that channel it will be posted the same day on this blog.
This blog will also have the latest Thomas & Friends related YouTube videos and news again.

Thomas & Friends Journey Beyond Sodor - The Movie Spoiler Free Review
When I first went to buy this movie at Walmart I was a really hoping for a 1080pHD Blu-Ray release, but since the staff have changed from Hit Entertainment to Mattel Creations all they will give us now are 480p DVDs that aren't great if you don't have a Blu-Ray player with 1080pHD up-scaling.
Hit Entertainment/Mattel have released every movie since Misty Island Rescue on Blu-Ray so I don't really see the reason for them to stop this year other than Mattel wanting to cheap out and cut production cost's.
The animation was great, but the engine bouncing was annoying like Chuggingtion. A good change they made is the troublesome trucks have lines now and they interact with the engines and I like how the workmen are more active with the engines as well.
Some of the songs were good, but some of them reminded me of music from previous movies and its as if they took background music from Tale of the Brave and re-used it and one of the sing-along songs sounded like a The Great Race song with the words changed.
Over all I really like this movie and hate it at the same time. Its hard to explain, but its not the best Thomas special and I think Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure was way better.
