Episode Review: Donald and Douglas

Season 2, Episode 16
Writer(s): Reverend W. Awdry
Air Date: November 22nd, 1991

Plot
Sir topham hatt ordered one new engine, but two showed up. There names were Donald and Douglas. One day Douglas was in the yard, a spiteful Brake Van was making trouble, so Douglas gave the van a bump. Then Donald wasn't looking where he was going and backed in to a shed, and damaged his tender. Latter in the yard the engines where talking about the time when James ran in to some tar wagons. Then James couldn't make it up the hill with some cars, so Donald helped. Then at the top, the brake van was smashed, but no one was hurt. Sir topham hatt still couldn't decide which engine to send away.
Review
I didn't like the crashes in this episode. I didn't like how they said shut up again, I don't know if the Reverend W. Awdry wrote those bad words or if David Mitton put them in.Over all the episode as OK.

Over all I give this episode a 4/10

Episode Review: Beter Late Than Never

Season 2, Episode 15
Writer(s): Christopher Awdry
Air Date: October 4th, 1986

Plot
The Viaduct is being repaired, with the arches being strengthened. Sir tophham hatt only closes one side of the viaduct so the engines can go across, but they have to go slower, and this makes them late. Soon Thomas gets mad at the main line engines for being late, but then one day Thomas is really late. Thomas pulled up to a crossing and finds that Bertie is ill. Thomas then fells sorry for Bertie, and happily takes his passengers to the station.
Review
This was a good episode, but Thomas has a funny whistle with three peeps at the end. There are only five goofs for this episode on the TTTE Wikia. It was funny how Thomas got mad at the engines and then he was late. Don't know what else to say, but this was a funny simple episode.

Over all I give this episode a 4/10

King of the Railway DVD Cover Found

Wikia user StephOfTheEast has uploaded a poster with the King of the Railway DVD cover in it. The poster is advertising the movie screening. It also says that there will be 65 tie-in products, seriously???

I think they should have put more characters on the front cover, but they only put two. The Blue Mountain Mystery cover way far better than this one. There is a funny little flap on the bottom right hand side of the poster.

I give this cover a 7/10

Episode Review: A Close Shave for Duck

Season 2, Episode 14
Writer(s: Reverend W. Awdry
 Air Date: October 1st, 1986

Plot
Duck arrived at Edwards' station. Duck was pulling a train of freight cars, but then they broke away down a hill. Then the barber put lather all over Duck. Soon Thomas comes and cleans up the mess, and Sir topham hatt comes and tells Duck that he can come back home. latter, Duck is back at the shed, and the engines give him a big welcome.

Review
I thought this episode was great, but there are lot's of errors on the TTTE Wikia for this one. I liked the episode because things just kept happening on it. Over all I thought the episode was great.

Over all I give this episode a 9/10

Episode Review: Diesel's Devious Deed

Season 2, Episode 13
Writer(s): Reverend W. Awdry
Air Date: September 28th 1986

Plot
The cars were rude to the engines., and Diesel didn't like looking silly in front of the trucks. Diesel didn't like Duck, he wanted him to be sent away, so he lied to the cars. Then James, Gordon, and Henry got mad at Duck, because they thought that he was calling them rude names. Soon Sir topham hatt came to the sheds and asked the engines about the problem. Then he sends Duck to Edwards station.
Review
I found the ending of this episode a lot like Pop Goes the Diesel. I didn't like how duck said shutup to the cars, it's just not right for a kids show. The ending part where Duck said "If the Dome Fits" was funny. Over all I thought it was a good episode.

Over all I give this episode a 9/10

Episode Review: Pop Goes the Diesel

Season 2, Episode 12
Writer(s): Reverend W. Awdry
Air Date: September 26th, 1986

Plot
Duck is proud to be a Great Western Engine, but the engines don't like him. The next day a new engine arrives, his name is Diesel. Duck tells diesel to take his cars while he goes and pulls the express. Diesel trys to take out the wrong cars. The cars don't move and Diesel gets mad. Then Duck comes back, and the cars sing a rude song about Diesel moving the wrong cars.
Review
Duck was moving to fast in this episode, maybe it was just because he was working faster, but it didn't look right. Diesel pretending to be nice to the steam engines was funny. I also enjoyed the truck's song about Diesel at the end. This is the first episode that Diesel appeared in. They should have put him in Thomas & The Magic Railroad to.

Over all I give this episode a 7/10

Episode Review: Percy Takes the Plunge

Season 2, Episode 11
Writer(s: Reverend W.Awdry
Air Date: September 24th 1986

Plot

Percy is talking to Bill and Ben in the shed about how he isn't afferd of water, then Henry comes and tells Percy that the shed is for Sir topham hatt's engines. Then Percy is down at the dock with Thomas, and he tells Percy how he went past a danger sign and fell in a mine. Then Percy collects some cars and he tells them to pushing past the sign. Then he tells them to stop, but they push him in to the sea. Sir topham hatt comes and tells Percy that they won't be able to get him out until night time. Once night time comes some large cranes lift him out, and Henry takes him to the works.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Review

This episode remined my of Gordon Takes a Dip, the story is all most the same. I noticed that Percy was missing the the black line above his eye brows in one shot. I saw this episode a few times, and it's just boring.

Over all I give this episode a 6/10

King Of The Railway Trailer Leaked!

Today the official King of the Railway trailer has been leaked on You Tube. User shadowedmultiverse uploaded the UK trailer. The new face's on the engines are no good, I hope they change them a little. I found some pictures of the new engines on the TTTE Wikia. Here they are.

Stephen

This movie seems like it's going to be OK, but the older Misty Island Rescue is better than the new
animation.

Episode Review: The Runaway

Season 2, Episode 10

Writers(s): Christopher Awdry
 Air Date: September 22nd, 1986
 Plot
Thomas gets ill so Edward takes him to the steam works, then Duck takes care of Annie and Claribel. The workmen leaves Thomas' brake on hard, so when Thomas went to a plat form he goes past it and has to back up. Then one day when Thomas is waiting for Henrys' passengers Thomas' brakes get loose and Thomas puffs away with out his driver or fireman. The inspector has a plan to stop Thomas. The inspector gets Harold, and they go and stop Thomas.
Review
This episode reminded me of a latter episode called Percy Runs Away, they used a lot of the same lines from it. Why didn't Thomas ask his driver for help when he pulled out of the station. Also, I really liked Harolds' rescue song.
Over all I give this episode a 8/10

Episode Review: Percy Proves a Point

Season 2, Episode 9
Wrighter(s): Reverend W. Awdry
Air Date: October 3rd, 1989

Plot
Percy is working at the harbor when he sees a helicopter fly over head, then latter Percy meets the helicopter at the air feild when he is stoped at a single. The helicopters name is Harold, and he told Percy that railways are slow and out of date. Latter Percy tells Toby what Harold said, then collects his trucks and heads back to the  harbor. On the way Percy and his driver see Harold, they decied to race him. Then Percy wins, and pulls in to the harbor first. Whale Harold is looking for a place to land, Percys' driver sings Percy a song.

Review
Well I remembered the song well, and I thought it was great. The background music for the race was great to. This season so far has been Percys' season. Percy seems to say Stupid a lot in this season, and I don't like that. I really don't know how people find all these errors while watching the episode, there are 12 errors on the TTTE Wikia page for this episode, but over all I thought the episode was great.

Over all I give this episode a 8/10

Episode Review: Duck Takes Charge

Season 2, Episode 8
writer(s): Rev. W. Awdry
  Air Date:October 2nd, 1989

Plot
Percy, Gordon, James, and Henry were at the sheds, Percy has some news for the engines, the news was that Sir topham hatt was sending a new engine to help Percy. When the new engine came the three big engines thought they would order Duck about.. This made Duck and Percy mad, so they blocked the sheds so the big engines couldn't get in. Soon Sir topham hatt herd all the noise out side, he went out from his office and told them to stop making noise. Then Duck told Sir topham hatt that the big engines were giving them orders. Sir topham hatt then put a stop to this.

 Review
I thought this was a funny episode, and I thought the argument at the sheds was funny. When I searched this episode on You Tube, I was surprised at how many remakes there were, for some reason this is a very popular remaking episode. Also, there are lots of Goofs on the TTTE Wikia for this episode. Over all I thought this episode was great, and I enjoyed Sir topham hatts' orders at the end.

Over all I give this episode a 8/10

Episode Review: Percy and the Signal

 Season 2, Episode 6
 Wrighter(s):Reverend W. Awdry
 Air Date: December 19th, 1991

Plot
Percy is cheeky, and teases Gordon and James, but then Gordon and James have an idea to get back at Percy. They tell him about "Backing Signals", and Percy thinks there really are "Backing Signals". The next time Percy goes to a signal it goes up instead of down, so Percy goes backwards. Then at the sheds, Gordon and James talk about signals before they go to sleep, but Percy just thinks there being silly.

Review
I thought this was a funny episode, but why did Percy buy Gordon and James' joke, after he was the one joking first? The rest of the episode was fine, and Percys' bad mood face at the shed looks good. Over all I thought the episode was great.

Over all I give this episode a 6/10

Episode Review: A New Friend for Thomas

Season 2, Episode 5

Writer(sChristopher Awdry
Air Date: September 14th, 1986

Plot
Trevor wants some work, and one day Edward has some good new for Trevor, Sir topham hatt has a job for him st the harbor.  Thomas takes Trevor to the harbor on a flatbed, then Trevor gets to work showing Thomas just how usfull a traction engine can be. Trevor is sad when it's time to go back to the orchard, but Thomas says he can come and visit some times. Then Trevor goes to sleep in his shed remembering the harbor, Thomas, and most of all the children.

Review
I really enjoyed this episode, and I remember seeing it somewhere, but can't really remember. It was hard to choose a good image on the TTTE Wikia for this episode, so I just used the Us title card. I have nothing else to say, but this episode was great.

Over all I give this episode a 7/10

Episode Review: Old Iron

Season 2, Episode 4
  air date: September 11th, 1989
  Writer(s): Reverend W. Awdry

Plot
James gets mad at Edward for being late, then he tells Thomas and Percy that Edward is "Old Iron". Then some boys play with James' controls while James' driver was ill. Then James becomes a run away train, then Edward catches James with rope and a pole. Then Sir topham hatt says that James can rest ans take his train, and that Edward will have his worn part's mended.

 Review
This was a good episode, but the camera angle above the bridge wasn't very good. At the end, how did Edward know that James had called him "Old Iron"?  There weren't as many error's on the TTTE Wikia in this episode, but there were lots in the last one, which was Saved from Scrap.

Over all I give this episode a 2/10

Episode Review: Saved From Scrap

 Season 2, Episode 3
 air date: September 9th, 1986
  Writer(s): Reverend W. Awdry

Plot
Edward takes a load to the scrap yard, and when he was there he met an old traction engine, his name was Trevor. The Edward goes to the station and asks the vicar if he would buy Trevor. Then at the scrapyard Trevor's driver, Jem Cole, fixes Trevor up, and then the vicar comes and buys Trevor, "cheap".

Review
This was a good episode, saw it lot's when I was little, I had it on the DVD called Thomas & his Friends Help Out. I didn't really notice, but on the TTTE Wikia they said that Edward was wearing one of Donald and Douglas' faces. There isn't really anything to say about this episode, but I really like this one.

I give this episode a 4/10

Episode Review: A Cow on the Line

air date: 5 September, 1986
 written by: Rev. W. Awrdy

Plot
Edward takes a train of cows to the goods yard, but half the train brakes away, then Gordon and Henry tease Edward about the accident. Then Gordon sees a cow on the line, and Henry comes along, but backs away so he doesn't hurt the cow. Then the driver finds the cows' calf, and the engines go home to the shed.

Review
Well, I never saw this episode, and it was OK. The only error I spotted was that a brown cow had a white calf, I guess they just didn't have a module of a brown calf. James didn't really have any plot in this episode, he was more of a cameo. There are loads of "Goofs" on this episodes' Wikia page, so it must have been produced fast. Edward pulling cattle trucks is new, I thought he was more of a yard/shunting engine.

Over all I give this episode a 2/10

Episode Review: Double Trouble

Plot
Thomas thinks that Blue is the only color for really useful engines, then Percy shunts some truck's under the coal loader to get filed up. Thomas teases Percy about doing it the right way, but when Percy pulls away, the rest of the coal goes all over Thomas. Latter all three engines are at the Station. Percy was about to get some water, but he goes to fast and lands in a pile of coal after breaking the buffers. Then Thomas & Percy go to the sheds, and say sorry to each other.

Review
Well, this was an OK episode, and there isn't really much to say about it. Thomas saying that blue is the only color for really useful engines, makes it like Gordon and Edward can only be his friends. The US episode title didn't really fit the episode, I like the UK one a lot better. Season 2 episodes are made a little differently than season1, and I don't know how to say the difference. Also the story was kind of boring in this episode.

Over all I give this episode a 7/10

Episode Review: Thomas Christmas' Party

Plot
Thomas remembers that Ms. Kindly rescued Thomas from an avalanche a year ago, now the engines want to have a Christmas party to thank her. Ms. Kindly gets snowed in right before the party, so Terence, Thomas, Percy, and Toby go rescue her, then the engines puff back to tidmouth sheds, and find it all dark, then the light's turn on and there is a big Christmas party, and they all sing "We Wish You A  Merry Christmas".

Review
I don't know why Thomas doesn't say Merry Christmas to Ms. Kindly, instead he says Happy Christmas. I really like this episode, but I thought it was a different one because I haven't seen it in so long. At the end of the episode Sir topham hatt is standing on Lego bricks, along with Ms. Kindly, and his Sir topham hatts' guys, I don't know what you call them.

Over all I give this episode a 9/10

Episode Review: Down the Mine

Plot

Thomas was teasing Gordon about smelling ditch water, then Thomas had to go get some cars, but decided he wanted to cross a danger sign at the mine instead. The Thomas falls in the ditch, then Gordon comes and pulls him out, and the two friends go home buffer to buffer.

Review

I didn't really get the part about the ditch water at the beginning of the episode. I really liked Sir topham hatts' shadow, and his funny looking face. This is also the only episode that Thomas was crying  in. I don't think there is any other episode he has tears in.

Over all I give this episode a 6/10

Blog Update: 2013

Well 2013 is here, and now I'm going to finish up season 1 reviews, then the Daily Character, and after that season 2 reviews. Every time I'm between seasons there will be character reviews.

I don't know if I will review every single Thomas & Friends episode like Thomas & Friends Review Station, it will be loads of work.My review on Blue Mountain Mystery is now in the works. I will try and have it out by the end of January.

I'm planning on giving this blog a new look including a background, banner, and other side bar features. There is a new blog I made title TWR Community, you can find it through my Blogger profile.

I would like to have season 1 to 12 episode reviews done by fall, then a King of the Railway review might come out, and after that I will start reviewing CGI episodes again. There will also be lot's more You Tube videos on my thomasdvdguy2 channel.
