Episode Review: Stepney Get's Lost

Season 5, Episode 13
Air Date: October 7th, 1998
Writer(s): Britt Allcroft, David Mitton

Summary
Sir Top Ham Hatt sent Stepney to help Toby and Mavis in the quarry, but told him to be careful because it is easy to get lost, and to be back before dark. When Stepney got to the quarry he got right to work, and Toby and Mavis were impressed. Then a workmen asked them to take a night special to the new building site at the new branch line, they said yes, but forgot to ask Sir Top Ham Hatt first.

They got there on time, then headed for home. That's when the trouble started. Stepney's driver thought the single was green because someone was expecting them, but is wasn't, the point's were switched the wrong way. Stepney came to a unknown place, the driver deiced to stay until the fog cleared.

When it cleared they noticed they were at the smelters yard, the driver and fireman went for help. Stepney was alone, but soon Arry and Bert took him to the smelters shed, once there a grabber reached down for him, but just as it was about to grab him, it stopped. Sir Top Ham Hatt was there and said saving Stepney from scrap was becoming a habit and to stop it. Then Stepney went home happily.

My Own Thoughts
I enjoyed the music and lighting in this episode, it was better that Haunted Henry, but the fog was just as good. Toby warned Stepney that the line was spooky at night, but Stepney said it was suddenly spooky. why would Sir Top Ham Hatt let Arry and Bert get away with trying to scare Stepney? It was odd that Stepney was in the same scrap yard he was at before, but I guess there's only one on Sodor.
