Episode Review: Something in the Air

Season 5, Episode 15
Air Date:  October 11th, 1998
Writer(s): Britt Allcroft, Daivd Mitton

Summary
Thomas was at the fishing village collecting fish for Henry's train, he didn't like it because they were slow and this would make Henry late. The driver and fireman thought it was funny when the workmen dropped a crate of fish on Thomas. After they left they soon came to a workmen waving a red flag, he warned Thomas' driver that the line was damaged from water going under the tracks.

The workmen put a oil lamp by the damaged track to warn the other engines. When Thomas got to the docks Henry was waiting, he was cross because Thomas was late. Thomas explained about the dangerous line, but Henry wouldn't listen, meanwhile Thomas' driver and fireman were in the office talking to the manager, he called the signalman and warned him about the damaged track, but he didn't get the message in time, by the time he did Henry was far away.

Soon Henry came to the oil lamp, he plunged in the water, the cars fallowed. The next morning Henry was lifted out. Sir Top Ham Hatt was there and he told Henry to deliver fish and not to swim with them, Cranky laughed. Back at the shed Thomas asked henry what he smelled, he laughed and said fresh air.

My Own Thoughts
This episode was funny, they need some new music tracks though. The part with the boys was funny, but it was like a rewrite of Steamroller. Were did all the fish in the barge come from? The Flying Kipper or the water? It's really hard to tell, but I'm guessing The Flying Kipper, but I never saw the cars open or brake. I'm enjoying season 5 so far, I really like the foggy nighttime episodes.
